Karate (kah rah tay not kah rah tee)

The word karate is translated as ”empty hand” . The Karate practitioner holds no weapons in his hand. In the Phoenix bow we open our hands to show that our hands are empty. Open hands also indicates that you are open to learning as I am open to sharing my knowledge with you. And as I teach I learn.

I invite you to join me on this KARATE path! Let’s begin. You pronounce karate (kah rah tay).
